The Old Man of The Mountain was Drew Tanner’s first book design project. In addition to the layout, Drew provided the portrait of Eldridge McComb, featured on the cover, as well as photos of Eldridge’s home and farm. These were combined with archival photographs from the McComb family, as well as the words of LeAnna Alderman Sterste and those of Eldridge himself to tell his story.

“Looking back on Eldridge’s life, it becomes clear that he was so far behind the times that he actually ended up ahead. As people today champion the benefits of buying local foods, growing heirloom vegetables, and farming organically, it turns out that Eldridge had been living that way for over eighty years; his life has much to teach us.”
